D365 CSU sample Scale Unit project

For my project, we are trying to install 3 CSU Nuget packages: one for a payment connector, one for sales tax, and one for address validation.  I followed the instructions for setting up a CSU development environment in the link below.  We are currently having some dependency problems between tax and address packages.  The error states the packages must use the same version of some specific DLLs and within the Nuget packages, I do see that there are different versions of the DLL.  We are receiving help from the vendor but as we were going through the sample project checking things, I noticed many references to Contoso.  From my past AX experience, Contoso usually represents example data or customizations from Microsoft.  How do I make sure that no Contoso-specific extensions or examples are included in the final version of the merged CSU package we are trying to build?  Is it safe to go through and remove any reference I see to Contoso?
