This is how I set up the flow to assign security roles Assign/Remove Security Roles to Users Via Power Automate – The Techie dood (wordpress.com)
But I want to assign those security roles at Business Unit level and not at Organization level.
Update:
So the flow assigns the Security Roles for the Parent Business Unit only,
If I were to change the parent business unit for a user to another business unit, the flow will not assign those security roles to that business unit.
Maybe I formulated wrong my question.
If you go to the admin center at user settings, select any user and edit it, there you have multiple sections:
One of them is called Organization Information, and below, you have the Business Unit name the user is part of , and a button that states "change business unit" .
I noticed that the flow does not assign the roles to that business unit the user is part of.
For example: user is part of BusinessUnit1, I assign the role Basic User through the flow.
Now, if I go to in the admin center and check the security role, I can see that he has that role assigned, but if I were to click manage roles, the Basic User role won`t appear as assigned on that windows, and it gives me the option of assigning it again, meaning the user will now have 2 Basic User roles.
The role assigned manually through manage roles is for the BusinessUnit1, and the first role assigned by the flow is for the whole Organization/All BusinessUnits, meaning the user gets access to content that he shouldn`t get.
I can`t upload any images here, cus it would`ve been easier to understand.
What do you mean by Business Unit level and not at Organization level? In the given flow they are just assigning the roles to a user that is it. they are not defining any entity level permissions..
