You cant undo this process, restoring your company database to the most recent backup would be the best solution.

What's the best solution that I can do if backup done is not very recent?

I am afraid there is no other easy option. Although, if this is quite urgent, you can open a support ticket with Microsoft and see whether they can provide any sufficient assistance.

I had similar situation once. One of my clients removed history and didn't noticed for a while so we couldn't use a recent backup. I had to restore older backup to a staging database and copy historical records using sql insert statement. The goal would be to replace pm historical table with records from whatever latest backup you have. This would get you to only miss history from the backup till today. It is complex and should be tested and done by consultant or with Microsoft assistance.  Also, you should always have daily backups done plus transaction log.

    Hi Mae,

First thing to do is to change security so that this cannot happen again. Even if you are the administrator, you should have a user account that does not include the record damaging utilities - like the Remove utility and the Clear Data window. Follow the advice of others to restore the information using SQL that you can get from the last backup. For the missing data, the only thing you can do to rebuild it is to go to the general ledger and look at the source document information. It won't give you all of the information, but it will give you enough so that you can import the transactions into A/P and at least have the basics. You will actually have quite a lot because of all the information that goes up to the general ledger from the PM module.

I had this happen to a client many years ago and we rebuilt the whole thing from the GL because it was easier than trying to piece through their old backup. A lesson to us all, Remove means delete in all but three places in Dynamics GP.

    Good luck!

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Thanks, Leslie... and lest I miss an important tidbit of info... The three places in GP that Remove doesn't mean Remove?

    1.  Paid Transaction Removal?

    2.  ?

    3.  ?

    1. Paid Transaction Removal

    2. Remove Completed Purchase Orders

    3. Reconcile - Remove Sales Documents

Seems like I ran across another one, but I cannot for the life of me remember it. Anyway, the above you'll run into more often. If Remove is in the Utilities area, BEWARE, only #3 above doesn't delete when it's in Utilities. This is just for the core product, always be leery of the word Remove anywhere it comes up :)
