SSO for MS CRM On Premise

Hello,

If a user  logins to his desktop with windows authentication(a user on Active Directory). And the same AD is used to create a user on premise MS CRM organisation. Will the user need an SSO? Can he directly open the MS CRM organisation without entering AD credentials for authentication?

Basic requirement is that user  should not be asked to put credentials again for authentication?

Yes. This is controlled by the browser settings. If using Internet Explorer, then the normal setup would be to ensure the CRM website is added to the Local Intranet zone, and have the security option 'Automatic log-on only in Intranet zone' selected

Thanks David. So SSO implemetation will not be required , right? User will just put CRM URL in browser and no authentication details will have to re-entered?

"Can he directly open the MS CRM organisation without entering AD credentials for authentication?" Yes.

"Will the user need an SSO?" - what do you mean by this exactly? SSO stands for "single sign on", which is exactly what you have already described - the user signs on once, in a single place (when they log on to their PC). SSO is not a thing that you need, or something that you install or buy, it is simply a description of an application working using existing credentials you have already provided.
