Updating Choices across environments

Hi All,

We have an existing Choice with 3 options, but some of the options have not be named clearly and are causing confusion. They have been in the system for a while now (approx. 1 year) and in our live and UAT environments have been used.

I am trying to correct the naming but am not having a lot of success. As an example, we have:

Option 1

Option 2

Option 3

and I am trying to change the label for Option 1 and Option 3 to be different values. for example:

Option 1 => Option 4

Option 3 => Option 5

When I publish and export the solution, Option 3 is successfully changed to Option 5, but Option 1 does not change. I don't receive any errors or warning and the solution appears to be applied successfully!

Option 1 and Option 2 are currently applied to Contacts, but Option 3 is not used.

Is this expected behaviour? I can't seem to find any documentation or other queries saying that Choices that are in use cannot be updated via a solution.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I did not reproduce your problem in my testing.

I can update the option set being used.

My testing is as follows.

I have the Test table in the Marketing Trial environment, exported through the solution as unmanaged to another to the Sales Trial environment.

These are the initial three options.

In the Sales Trial environment, I used Choice 1 and Choice 2.

Then, I update the options in the Marketing Trial environment and export this option set field as an unmanaged solution to import into the Sales Trial environment.

The Choice 1 option changed to Choice 4

Dear User,

Can you check if the option set value is correct or not?

Because each option set options have unique value and if it is not matching then the labels will not updated.

Hi @Dengliang

That interesting as it is not the behaviour we are seeing. When we export the solution we are exporting it as a Managed solution. Could that have an effect do you think?
