How to force the proper case in a field

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

IN the address field, we allow our sales team to enter the data that is needed. IS there a way to automatically have it changed to the proper case

Example, they enter CHICAGO, upon saving it should be Chicago.

Example 2, they enter 123 main st, upon saving it should be 123 Main St.

    Hi ,

There is no OOB functionality for that  , you need to write custom script for that .

You can also have a look autocomplete feature -

For Chicago case  you can use lookup to Cities entity and have all possible Cities as data in proper case.

Than if you write in this field with any case or even part of the world, it will find proper city and show it in proper case.

But for general address including street name and number - there are no way without coding.  You need to add custom javascript to the form (web_resource) and listen onchange event on that field, once it lose the focus or changed - do you custom logic and update field value.
