Calendar from outlook not syncing to crm server calendar

This is driving me crazy. My boss had set an appointment on outlook for a certain time of the day. He 'tracks with crm' and manually uses the 'synchronize with crm' option in the CRM dropdown menu. It shows itself on the outlook calendar, but when i log into the crm webpage and look at my boss's calendar on the crm server the appointment does not show up on the calendar.

He has set other appointments before and after and it worked fine. We solved this problem by deleting the appointment on outlook and recreating it again with the exact same info. It then showed up fine on the crm server.

Is this a bug? Or is this a client side issue or a server side issue?

What other info would i need to provide to help diagnose this problem?

Thanks,

JP Baraniecki

So there was just one single appointment that did not appear to track correctly in CRM but now everything is fine?

    Hello JP,

CRM Online synchronize with Outlook calendar by CRM Outlook or Server Side Synchronization. Corrupt appointments will block synchronization between CRM Online and Outlook. This is because CRM Online will try to synchronize elements from outlook and if it is corrupt it will be not found or synchronization will never finish.

Sometimes CRM Online will create infinite series of current appointments but in the other side it will not be possible to have ACT synchronization at all.

    Internal traces will be like:

    2014-12-03 22:32:29.302] Process:CrmAsyncService |Organization:0a6409d3-8bbf-4831-b2cd-350601cf5a01 |Thread:  733 |Category: ExchangeSync |User: 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 |Level: Error |ReqId:  | ExchangeSyncWorker.SynchronizeACTs  ilOffset = 0x4C

    >Exchange sync worker for the mailbox is failed/terminated : {AA720312-685B-E411-BB64-2C59E53AF7C0}. Exception details : Unhandled Exception: System.ArgumentException: An item with the same key has already been added.

The solution is to remove all corrupt appointments from Outlook to unlock synchronization between CRM Online and Outlook.

As best practice is recommended to clean all corrupt appointments in Outlook by using Calendar Check:

    www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

    searchexchange.techtarget.com/.../Fixing-corrupt-Microsoft-Outlook-calendar-entries

This will improve performance in Outlook, CRM Outlook and connection with CRM Online.

Because you could detect the corrupt appointment in Outlook calendar and delete it, synchronization was established again; sometimes it is difficult to detect corrupt appointments because not always have relationship with CRM Online and only belongs to Outlook.
