Posted Sales Shipments and Posted Sales Invoices automatic creation

Why when Sales Order is created, there also dozen of Posted Sales Shipments and Posted Sales Invoices are created?

I found in the "Sales & Receivable Setup" page Shipment on Invoice option, it explains why shipments are created, but why the invoices are created automatically?

Is there any explanation for such a behavior?

So, if I correctly understand you guys, in your cases Posted Sales Shipments and Posted Sales Invoices are not created automatically, when new Sales Order is created?

    [/quote]

The posted sales shipments and posted sales invoice are not being created at the time of order creation.

It is the posting process that "moves" the sales order to posted sales shipment and posted sales invoices.

The posted documents are by products of the sales order. They are carbon copies but they are what actually happened in the business transaction. A sales order is what could happen as a business transaction.

Hi, Zhu, this option is turned off. I'm doing customization by my own, and right now I'm just playing around with Sandbox environment.

MahGah, Actually I do not post them at the moment. It is sandbox environment, and I'm just tried to create Sales Orders

Hi, Does your environment have background posting set up?

If not, this may be caused by third-party customization and you should contact your partner to investigate the issue.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

How do you ship Sales Order? Do you post or use 3rd party app such as Dynamic Ship? If you post do you select Ship & Invoice or only ship? if you select ship & invoice then this is the reason why it invoice it. If you use 3rd party app such as Dynamic Ship they have a setup for auto invoice.

Automatically after posting? Sales Orders don’t last as data in Business Central. Once they are fully shipped and fully invoiced sales orders are deleted. This is the way to close off sales orders.
