how can I integrate my custom app with dynamics CRM using Common Data Service?

Hi all,

I was wondering can I integrate my custom apps with dynamics apps using common data service? or CDS is just for power apps?

    Hi Kaan,

    Dynamics 365 apps (formerly Customer Engagement, or Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Marketing, Project Service Automation) are already leveraging the Common Data Service (CDS).

    So fields, data, customizations, security, business logic, etc. are already in Common Data Service.

    What exactly are you trying to achieve?

    Hi Henry,

    Thanks for your reply. Actually, I have an app which is calculate segmentations of customers. This app will be have different database.

    I was wondering, can I design it compatible with CDM and integrate with Dynamics Apps using CDS?

    I think I would need more details to fully understand the context, but I'm guessing yes, this could be achievable.

    If it's just the data from your app that you want to use to update CDS records, there are number of technologies you can use, including Power Automate: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/commondataservice/
