Activate and Deactivate Marketing Assets

Hello everybody,

i need help with a small problem in Dynamics 365 Marketing App.

Is there a way to access the "Stop" and "Go live" Button via code or the actions that happen when it gets clicked.

We need to stop the marketing assets and than activate them again, so they can be used in a customer journey.

Thanks already for your help.

Jakob

    Hi @Jakob Bräuninger,

    That's interesting.

What's the usecase for having to stop them in the first place?

Just because they are live doesn't mean you have to use them. You can have them live the whole time and have  a trigger or a schedululer to wait until you are ready to use them.

    Thanks,

    -DD

    Hello,

it was mainly to get them live.

we transfer changes onto different environments and the marketing assets are not live so we have to set each one live.

We want to able to do that quicker since we have a few environments and a lot of marketing assets.

    Thanks already for your answer.

    Hi Jakob,

Do you know of any actions that trigger when those buttons are pressed beyond the Status Reason changing?

The "Live" and "Stopped" values that determine if they appear as options in Customer Journeys reside in the Status Reason field. I believe you could bulk update some of these assets to set their Status Reason to "Live" after you've moved them to the new environment.

Setting a marketing email or customer Journey to Live will not cause them to be published.

You need to set the status reason on them to "Going Live" which will cause them to be published; once published, the Status Reason will automatically be updated to Live.
