Hi Friends,
When we add a new fiscal year period, all periods are in open status, why is that?
Is there a way to automatically set it to close, not manually.
Many thanks,
River
Hi River,
If I create a new year / new periods in my demo environment then they are all on hold.
Do you know if a modification has been made in your system that is responsible for the the open period status?
Best regards,
Ludwig
Thank you, Ludwig, I have to check it out.
Hi Ludwig,
I looked at tables, form, but I couldn't find any associated customization with it. Could there be a setting somewhere?
Thanks,
I am not aware of a specific setting or parameter.
Double checked that in one of the MS demo machines where I got all periods on hold when I create a new year.
Have you checked LCS already to make sure that this is not an old bug?
Dear River
Thank you for posting this issue to our community.
When you create a new fiscal year this is suppose to be for future entries and therefore the periods are opened for you to be able to create and post transactions.
Set automatically to close would not make much sense considering the above. I am not aware of any setup that allows the system to create new fiscal year with setting period status other than Open.
Please let us know if you need any other details and I will be happy to assist further.
Hi Mihaela,
Thanks for your response, I checked out Sandbox, it's same issue, all periods are open when creating new fiscal year.
Question is I only need to open first month at beginning, I have to make other months on hold manually, and we have multiple entities, it's bit annoying to update all those status.
Did you see Ludwig's response, his demo box works differently, I don't know why.
Here are some screenprints that illustrate what I see:
Hi River, Ludwig,
There is a GL parameter to specify the maximum number of open financial years. Could it be the case that Ludwig entered a number and that River has no value in this field or a higher value? That could explain the difference. I don't have an AX 2012 machine available (I'm enjoying my vacation) to check this myself.
MS support also saying it's intended to be 'open'.
Hi Garnriver,
It is system's default behaviour to set the status to OPEN for any new fiscal year. I don't hink There is any default parameter to control that setting. As other members suggested, you can just manaully set the status to CLOSE.
