Report designer issue importing default reports

ReportReport

Hi all,

Does anyone knows how to pass through this error when opening report designer: can´t connect to the default company!

I choose yes to the question "do you want to connect to a different company", and got to the report designer, seeing a popup with the companies list. It seems the "set as default" button doesn´t do anything.. It just opens the security menu with our users.

I then go to Tools, import default reports, and then I get the error: "A default company must be specified before you can import a building block group".

So, i´m in a kind of a cycle.. how to be sure I have a default company?

Thank you.

I have the same question (0)

This many times indicates a connection failure to the Financial reporter database.  Do you have a system administrator or someone on the IT side that can help troubleshoot the connection issue?

    Thank you Frank.

In fact, I´m a sys admin in these environment but don´t have access to the machine itself.

When you say troubleshoot, you mean maybe in the infrastructure / event viewer yes?

Will try to ask if someone has access.

Repor Designer settings are stored in a C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apps.

Search for a file name  user.config related to Repor Designer. You can have other  user.config from other app.

Delete folder and try again. Sample file report designer settings

    Thank you Nuno.

That path you commented, would be on the user machine (which is opening the report designer) or in the server machine?

Because in the user machine, I didn´t noticed any file like that really...

In the user machine. Default company is a settings stored in that file.

You should try opening Report Designer on the machine.  The Designer app installs locally the first time you open it.

I understand, but didn´t find anything in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apps

Let me try it in different folders maybe..

Hello! I had the same issue and I solved it with a Data Mart Reset, if that can help for future cases.
