Connect a Document Location Folder to an ID instead of URL

Hello,

We have a scenario where we have multiple systems look at a Sharepoint Document Location Folder and get the folders based on the Sharepointlocationid, and always have that as a reference.

Is it possible to have that as a reference even though that value isn't available in Dynamics? and then listen to changes in that structure and update the name of the Folders accordingly in Dynamics for e.g Account Folder, and name get's changed in SP to Account Folder 123, to retrieve and update that change.

The problem is now with the OOB as soon as the name of the folder (accounts) is changed in SP, the document tab on account will fail and say, "document location has been renamed".

Is the only possible way forward, to get the relative URL somehow from sharepoint and add it to the Dynamics document location and make changes that way?

I have the same question (0)
