How to separate monthly and constant costs in a Quote

Hi,

I have a quote, which contains different products and services. Some of the services should be charged monthly while others should be charged just once.

Therefore, I want to categorize the products/services according to the period of their payment (constact /monthly / yearly) and display the summary of each type in Quote and its related entities (such as Order), separately. So, instead of Total amount field, I would like to show:

  • Total Monthly Costs: 1000$
  • Total Yearly Costs: 1001$
  • Setup Cost (one): 1002$

I have also added a field to Quote Detail (Entity) to define the payment type, but I am not sure if I should manually change the structure of the related entities to display the desired results.

Is there any predefined solution for this matter?

Regards,

Peyman

    Hi Peyman,

The system fields in the Quote and Quote Product are having their own calculation based on product, selling price per unit, manual discount, volume discount (If any), and tax (if any)

I have the similar requirement, it is monthly rental amount in each product and summary in Quote and will bring them to Opportunity after Won Quote, so no choice, then we need to customize the quote product to cater our requirement. And in order to not disturb the CRM standard process.

So, need to create extra custom fields to store those field.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks.

    Hi Aileen,

I have added related fields to quote detail /product, but now I have to add 3 fields to Quote entity for each type of cost and I should remove the default total cost. I do the same with Order entity, and as a result, all the price values should be handled manually.

Probably there is no other solution.

    Regards,

    Peyman

    Hi Peyman,

Just asking, from those 3 fields, any price that you can use the standard total amount?

Probably, you want to keep remain total monthly cost.

So by default the total amount in CRM will be your total monthly accumulated from each product?

In your price list, what price you use? Maybe you can use selling price per unit in the quote product to store one of your field, save cost.

And another suggestion, for each Quote and Quote Product, do you need all of the three fields, meaning that 1 quote product have monthly, cost, setup one total amount?

Or for each product basically just having one total amount in the end, but user will choose this type, monthly, year, or constant.

    So example:

    Quote ABC

Product Name     Total Monthly      Total Yearly        Total Setup

    ABC                      1500                     17000                 1000

    Or you can just define:

    Quote ABCDEF

    Product Name     Total Cost        Type

    ABC                      17000               Yearly

    DEF                       1500                 Monthly

    Thanks.
