Contracts and Proposals

Hi Community,

I am seeking thoughts on how others approached the management of word proposals and contracts from within BC.

My sales team will often create proposals, contracts specific to a customer and ideally I would like them to use a default template and customise as approproiate thereafter.Ideally I would like it as an attachement against the customer or order in BC.

appreciate I could use SharePoint for this and create the template in SharePoint and then attach it to the cusotmer or order their after, but I was wondering if there was any other solutions from within BC so as to avoid moving out to SharePoint.

I am interested to see how others approached this, thanks in advance.

Kind Regards Neil.

    Hi

Are you using BC SaaS and which version you are?

We use the following methods. The first one is for more simple letter. But the last one is for complex letter.

    1) You can use Word Template in BC. This way you can even make it combination of dynamic and fix text.

    2) Or you can use 3rd party add-on like below

    3) Or you can use API and connect to other software such as XpertDoc

I think the word templates should do what I want. I have noticed however this only applies to customers.

Is there a solution for sales orders so that I could create a different word template for different sales order situations?

    Thank Neil.

    Hi

It is possible but not straight forward. First your team always needs to go to "Word Template" then select the template they need. When you design the template you can add any table you want to the template then train your team to filter based on data for that template. For example you can add SO to template then tell your team filter by SO#. This way they can select the template they need then go from there.

Another possibility is to use Power Automation (from SO then Request Approval and Flow) but I could not find any guideline for this. I saw following for different purposes.
