CRM On Premise Email with Office 365

I have a CRM on premise deployment and would like to use our Office 365 hosted email. What are the supported methods of me connecting to this? Can I use Server Side Sync or do I have to use email router? Any other special configurations to get this working?

Thank You

    Hello,

We have tested both Server Side Sync and Email Router in our environments with Office 365 hosted Email. They are working as expected.

    CRM Email Router: support.microsoft.com/.../2708706

    Server Side Sync: crmbook.powerobjects.com/.../outlook-com-exchange-online

    Supported Configurations: technet.microsoft.com/.../dn531050.aspx

    Hello Arminos,

    Thank you for your query.

In CRM on premise deployment we support the email confirmation with Office 365 using both Server Side Sync and Email Router.

Please refer this article for more information.

    Hi All,

How do you get CRM on Premise working with server side sync to an online exchange server when hybrid solutions are claimed not to be supported in the "Supported Configurations" link above?

    [quote]Unsupported email service configurations

Server-side synchronization doesn’t support the following scenarios:

    • Hybrid deployment: Microsoft Dynamics CRM (on-premises) with Exchange Online

With CRM 2016 it works fine for me. I only use the email ability and not any other synchronization.

    Thanks,

That's good to know. I have a new client who is on 2016 and wants it only for email. I told them it wasn't supported, but can now use it.

The supported configurations must be a bit out of date, even though it says CRM 2016 at the top :-)

    Chris
