Hi All,

I'm New to Business Central so I want to study and learn AL Code, I'm using windows 10 OS so I installed BC 2022 Wave 1 for practice, In this BC the sandbox environment is not enable and there is no option for admin center,  How to I access sandbox and what I do now did I change the version of BC or what should I do ?

Thanks in Advance.

You are talking about installing BC on your machine, which is called BC On Prem.
Only BC Saas has an Admin Center, BC On Prem does not have that.
In BC On Prem every environment (database) is considered a sandbox. In BC Saas, in the Admin Center, you can create production and sandbox environments.
I would recommend you to create a free BC Saas trial here: trials.dynamics.com.

    Hi,

Since you're using Business Central 2022 Wave 1 (on-premises) on Windows 10, the sandbox environment is not available by default because the Admin Center and Sandbox feature are primarily for Business Central SaaS (Cloud) deployments. In the on-premises version, you can create a separate testing environment manually instead.

To set up a sandbox-like environment, you have two options:

    1. Use Docker Containers – Microsoft provides Business Central Docker images, which allow you to create a test environment easily.
    2. Install a Second BC Instance – You can install another instance of Business Central on a different database to use as a development/test environment.
Here’s a helpful video to learn for AL programming for Business Central:

Let me know if you need further guidance!

    Best regards,
    Dr. Gomathi S

As others have mentioned, the Sandbox feature is only available in the SaaS version, not for the On-Premise version that you have installed. Firstly, consider why you need the Sandbox; you can use your On-Premise environment for development. You just need to access it from your local machine, which would be the same as using a development environment. If you're interested in the cloud version, you can sign up for a free trial.
