In ap payment journal validate error: Field 'Reference' must be filled in.

When I doing the payment jouranl, an error popped as following picture. What does this reference refers to?

    Can you check the "Method of payment" setup, It might be defaulted as required.

    Is it asking Payment refence under Bank or payment tab?

    This setup is defined on "Method of payment" as mentioned by Bharath

    As mentioned below, you need to check the method of payment set up, the payment reference field.

    There is the following setup on the Payment method :

    But it'll give you the following error:

    But, your screenshot showing a different error.

    Can you check is there any customization done?
