LCS organization type is CUSTOMER and should be PARTNER

Posted on by 230

Hello everybody, I have access to LCS but when I log in my organization account, the organization has been defined as CUSTOMER rather than PARNTER. I am the admin user for a microsoft partner and I cannot find the way to update or change the organization type in LCS. It seems that the company profile in LCS has been defined as customer rather than partner. I coulnd't find a way to contact LCS support.

Did anyone have the same issue?

Thanks,

Just click on your name at the top right corner and see whether you can see PARTNER ORGANIZATION  or /and CUSTOMER ORGANIZATION as follows, I if you can see your Organization under partner just click on Organization name then you can switch.

    Hope this will help.

    Thanks,

    Hi Juan,

Please sign up for your partner trial license from partner source portal then you will be able to create Lifecycle Services projects:

    Please check the details here:

    Hi Juan,

to me the issue seems to be that the O365 tenant that your user account belongs to doesn't have D365FO licenses.

Can you please verify if this is the case?

You need to have D365FO Customer / Partner trial licenses activated in order to create D365FO projects in LCS.

Hi André, I am not able to create "Partner LCS projects". When I create a new project, it is a customer project only. The methodology is predefined (and very simple) and the access to the tools of LCS are not present (Issue search, license  estimatior,BPM tool, etc.)

    Hi Juan,

do you see only the Customer relation in the top-right menu? I see both since my account is linked to Partner Source, and to an AAD tenant that has a D365 subscription.

Anyway, is there something that doesn't work for you in LCS? Or is it just a cosmetic thing?

Hi Nikolaos.  I am using an account linked to parnter source. But in LCS it is defined as a customer

    Thanks

    Hi Juan,

Can you perform the tasks on LCS which you want to do? Or are you missing some features?

For D365 projects I think it actually is supposed to be Customer.

Partner is available if your user account is linked to PartnerSource.

If you have both roles, you can switch the active one in the top right menu.
