When I run the Balance Sheet report it doesn't show any numbers for asset accounts.
Please can I have some advice on how to resolve this?

So your account schedule is pointing to accounts that you are not using.
There are several utube videos about setting up your accounts schedules, you should review and then you can fix your account schedules.
