How to Clear a voided quick journal that still appears in Series/Master Posting?

I am working with a client that is on GP 10.0 and they input a Quick Journal, Saved, and then went back in and Voided the entry.  Now the entry is showing in Financial - Series Post and Master Posting.  If the entry is selected for posting they receive an error message and then the Batch has to be recovered.

If the Journal Entry is viewed under Inquiry - Journal Entry, it is there and has an * next to the number identifying it is voided.  The entry still appears under the Transaction-Quick Journal, but when you try to select it an error message states that the entry is voided and cannot be opened.

How can we remove the batch from showing under Series and Master Posting and as an available entry under Financial - Transactions - Quick Journal?

I had the same problem. Did you find a resolution?

I would start by considering check links for the financial series. have you tried that ?

Thank you for responding. Yes, I have run Check Links for Transaction Work and Quick Journal, presumably that is what you mean by FInancial Series as the word 'Series' does not appear in the Check Links listbox.

Here is a little more detail. On the Batch Entry Screen I enter the Batch ID of one of the offending batches (as shown on the Series Posting screen) and click Find/Search. A list comes up with the match with a Select button on the bottom so I select the batch and click Select. I then get an error message 'Please select a record first'. Even though I have selected the only record displayed it is undoubtedly giving me that error becuase the Batch ID column is blank!! Some how it found the batch ID but failed to include that Batch ID in the rows to be selected.

    Well, this is really disappointing.

I have just run this on my Test Environment, and It was clear that I went through all the Symptoms you just mentioned above.

The batch is stock in the Series Post with Status (11), which means you are not able to post this Batch. Taking into consideration that the batch has no transaction within !

Well, this would need further testing on my side. For the mean time, please check the following reference as they have already illustrated further on this issue:

    Quick Journal Oddity

THANK-YOU Mahmoud. That 'Qiuck Journal Oddity' link solved the problem. As a developer I am more than comfortable deleting from table SY00500. I tried it in our test system and the offending batch was gone. Now we will have to backup production and then I will delete those empty batches in our live system.

Our accounting manager says she has worked with our Great Plains Vendor/Support to remove those batches with no success. She will be thrilled to hear we can at last get rid of the clutter.
