    Hi ,

Note that ED has mentioned the requirement for POS systems. for HQ well it all depend on how many stores you have and data pooling frequency.

    We are on;

    Intel Xeon  2.4 GHz 25 GB DDR3 Windows Server 2008 R2 SQL server 2005

Note :  Ram can be increase or decrease  based on your requirement.

    Mabuhay!

Hi! We are using Intel Xeon also with 32GB, what we fail was on our OS which only support 32GB RAM. It is sad because we have 78 existing stores and we encounter a slow connection and some hard to get worskheet to branches.

Out server consumes a lot of his memory for sql processing and as of now we are looking for an upgrade hope we can meet the best suit for this as RMS will be replaced by LS soon as we finishes some glitches on transferring thru LS Director.

Good info Chris. We are using 25GB with 90 stores connecting to HQ and so far it works fine. Check the network bandwidth as well. ( both the ends) . You can set the mem. limit in SQL. We have set it around 19 GB for SQL and rest for the background processes.

Even though MS says, SQL release the free memory, sometimes it takes the max if we didn't set the max limit.

LS has more flexibility in terms of customization and features. Good choice.

AX7 going to be a game changer!  We are awaiting for more info related to POS operations.

how do you set the memory limit on SQL?

I am running 30 stores connecting to HQ Server every hour and I get red flag sometime...

I am also running separate HQ Server computer and running 5 different HQ Server applications.

My SQL Server is E5-2420 x 2 Processors

    160GB Memory

    250GB RAID10 SSD

Any recommendation to perform much better on my server?

Mabuhay! We do have 50 stores that connect thru our VPN connection. We setup two dedicated IP and set them up in time schedule so they will not be having the same time to connect to avoid bottleneck. We sometimes get the red flag from data upload due to internet connections its a normal situations here in our country due to internet speed.

Try separate those 30 stores and check if they can run smoothly and avoid red flag. And your memory is awesome in our server we only have 32GB and thats too low for a server. We failed to check the OS memory capability thats why we cant upgrade memory. We are planning to replace our server this month.

Hi Sir! We tried it already what we noticed was i dont know if its working hehe by the way we havent tried it on 2-3 days just a couple of hours I think we need to try it again. If we set 19GB does our users here in the office will be affected in terms of their connections to HQ like encoding new items and processing some worksheets? Thanks!
