Sales order reference getting deleted from production orders

Hello Experts

I have found an issue with my production orders lately. One of the production order was linked to a sales order as a reference earlier and then after two days, the sales order number is disappeared from the production order.

1) How it is possible?

2) At first place, hows the sales order gets referenced to a production order?

Hi,

The reference tab in production order is uneditable.

Does this case happen to multiple production orders? You can create an alert to monitor the field.

The sales order will get referenced to a production order by the Master planning or manual creation of production order from sales order.

May I know what is the operation you have done on the production order on the recent two days？

Does it only happens for this production order, do you meet the issue on other production orders.

you can try to refer a sales order in following way.

1.Open the production order.

2.and then you can see the General/Setup/and Reference session.

3. under the session tab, you can find the item reference:

then you can refer to one sales order in the field of:

reference type and reference number.

Hi rejul,

Did you created that Production order from Sales order directly as (Make to Order) or created from MRP?

I totally agree What MATTGUO said, logically a buiness user cannot remove sales order reference from Product order screen. Can you please double check if you are mistakenly checking the incorrect production order.

Just to troubleshoot the issue, Can you try the same on your test environment and check if the sales reference is showing on production order reference field or not.

Hi

A production order can get "marked" to a Sales order in several ways. Master planning or "manually" from the Sales order form.

The marking is used to "Reserve" the goods but also flow the specific cost from Production to the Sales GOGS.

The system generated markings can be seen if you go to Inventory Transactions. Users can also manual alter the markings (Create/Delete) if needed.
