creating a recurring job

Hi all,

I was following this blog

https://msdynamics.net/featured-slider/dynamics-365-fo-recurring-integrations/

to create a recurring job

3. Set up a Data Project and Recurring Data Jobs>>Create a Recurring Data Job >>

Expand Advanced options tab and define either the File or Data package.

  • File â€“ Your external integration will push individual files so that they can be processed via this recurring data job. In this case, the format of the file that is expected is similar as the format that was specified when the entity was added to the data project.
  • Data package â€“ You can send only data package files for processing. A data package is a new format that allows you to submit multiple data files as a single unit that can be used in integration jobs.
  • Process messages in order â€“ You can allow this option to force sequential processing of incoming files in an import scenario. This option is only relevant to the files and not data packages.

it says expand the advance option tab

I dont get any advance option tab over there to set the file type as package or file??...

can you show me in the window with the screen shots???

Here are some screenshots to differentiate between the scenarios you might be using

For import job you will see the Advanced option that works just for import. You create an import recurring job for a data package or a file.

For export, you can only use the recurring job to download the data package or data file and advance option is only available for processing import a file or data packages.

You can see all your managed schedule data jobs by navigating to System Administration workspace > Data management IT > Recurring data jobs and see the inbound and outbound messages for the scheduled jobs.

    Hi rohit1900,

Mentioned options are only available for import scenarios. But your screenshot is pointing to export scenarios and there are different parameters.

If you want to use the data package for the export scenario you need to mark "Generate data package" checkbox in the data project itself.

    RE: creating a recurring job

What exactly are you trying to achieve with this recurring job?

Import a data file packages or export a data entity or data package? Are you trying to create a new recurring job or trying to use an existing recurring job?

Can you also check the mapping of the fields for selected data entity or entities if that is correct, before creating the recurring data job for the project?

What platform and application version are you using for D365?

I see no issue while creating a recurring job to import, export data entity or  data package.

Can you please share more details.

    Thanks,

    Shilpi

Do you see a scrollbars on the right side ? Use that and see at the bottom of the same screen if it is present or not ?
