    The answer is; as mentioned above, Analytical Accounting or MDA.

    The discussion of AA versus Traditional Account segmentation is a very old and sometimes controversial. Specific companies prefer to add traditional segmentation to reflect their business needs such;

    Segment One: Branch

    Segment Two: Main Account

    Segment Three: Department

    Segment Four: Location

    ... etc

    Although, other consultants argues that the above is not the best practice since it results with a huge number of accounts and definitely inefficiency. Lets take into consideration the example below:

    Suppose that you have a number of cost centers which is configured as an account segment in your COA, each time you add an expense account, you will have to configure one expense account for each cost center, which means that the result is as follows:

    Meanwhile, if you configure analytical accounting, you can simply have one dimension for the cost center which is assigned to the expense account, and the result is one account and multiple dimensions

    There is a legendary article by Mohammad Daoud showing the advantages of AA over traditional account segmentation that can be found on Microsoft Dynamics GP Analytical Accounting Vs. Segments

    So my recommendation for this specific case is to consider either AA or MDA.

    Your feedback is highly appreciated,

    For this case, you need to use Analytical Accounting (AA) or Multidimensional Analysis (MDA).

    Hope this helps!!!
