There is IDMF tool in 2012 to archive data https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/axsupport/2016/03/22/idmf-archiving-restoring-and-purging-data-from-a-custom-table/
There are also clean up / purge routines worth considering. All cleanup jobs are available in module > Periodic > Cleanup section
Check out which are e.g. the top 10 largest tables , also look at your log files to see what can be purged.
IDMF will also help you archive data. For custom tables see https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/axsupport/2016/03/22/idmf-archiving-restoring-and-purging-data-from-a-custom-table/
Cuong, please use titles that describe the topic of your question. I've changed your title Some questions of Dynamics 2012 R3 to the current one.
I've also fixed the version tag (from Microsoft Dynamics AX (current version) to Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012) and removed some unrelated categories, such as Connector for CRM. Please pay more attention to it next time.
Martin, Can we use IDMF – Archiving Restoring and Purging data tool with Dynamics AX 2012 R3 CU12 version for data archiving and purging?
Hello Team,
We are working for one of the clients and they are on AX 2012 R3 and looking to archive the data. From our past experience, IDMF is not a suitable tool as it has issues during archiving and purging.
Is there any other tool that we can use for data archival ?
Please suggest.
Anudeep1806 were you able to find any alternative to IDMF?
