I'm new to Dynamics CRM and would like to set up a simple Event attendance solution that enables me to see attendees/no shows for each event that we run but also see on a contact record what events have been attended/ no show. I would envisage importing data via csv for each event. I've set up a new Event custom entity but not sure how to proceed. Do I need a custom Event participant entity too?

You would probably a many-to-many relationship between contacts and your custom event entity.

And if you want to register show/no-show for an event you would need to have an intermediate entity as well.
