I need to add static text on my form (can't use the xrm notification option) under specific terms I need to show and hide that text but I can't hold it in a field, first I thought to use an Image with my text on the form, is there a better way to do that?
Hi Graham Phelps,
sahara should need to mark this thread verified. If you have any further queries you should need to create a new thread.
I have just had the same question and after seeing that no-one had an answer and looking in more detail what can be added to a Dashboard, I found this solution.
1. Create a jpeg image with the text that you wish to add to the CRM Dashboard
2. Create a new Web Resource with jpeg Type and choose the image you created with the text on
3. Pubish this and add this Web Resource to your dashboard.
Hi Sahara,
This is a work around. You can have the static text entered in a text field placed between two fields. The center fields needs to be read only (Static text can be set by using a business rule) and you need to hide the field label. This way, only the field value will be shown which will be static between 2 fields.
Hope this helps you out.
Thanks and Regards,
Shaheen
Writing a custom PCF control may be one way to do it (e.g. like how Microsoft have sliders etc that can be applied to number fields). Some examples of what others have put together https://pcf.gallery/
I believe it's possible but obviously it will occupy some space.
You can add a 3 columns tab, the first field would be located in the first column, the second column is the static text, and the third column is for the second field.
However, if you want to go with development, then you can have a html web source, and add it to the middle section of a tab.
Regards,
nice idea, is it possible to locate it inside a section between two fields.? Im not sure...
Hello,
I'm afraid that you need developer here.
1. You can create HtmlWebresource that will show your text and you can put it on the form.
2. You can create a Power Apps Component Framework that will show that text, use some field as a placeholder for that control and show it on the form.
Hi,
I know it would be a bit weird to say but you can insert a section and use the label of it for the static text you want to locate.
