Delete Item requirements linked to a PO/SO

Hi,
 Following is the scenario
- Item Requirement created from the Project
- PO created from the Item requirement
- Recieve the PO
- Error : when  deleting the Item requirement  with status open order

i fully understand that this the standard behavior of Microsoft.  my expected behaivour is that as long as the item requirement status is open order, i should be able to delete it irrespective of any linke POs or SOs The item remains  in the inventory and is available for other transactions.

Is there a workaround for this. i am planning to write  a FD for the developer. are there any issues that i need to consider while writing the FD.

Thank you in advance,
I have the same question (0)

    - Ensure that deleting the Item Requirement does not leave orphaned or inconsistent records in related tables (e.g., PurchTable, InventTrans).
    - Validate how this impacts commitments, budgets, and project cost calculations.
    - Confirm that the stock remains available after deletion.
    - Ensure that any reservations or inventory transactions are not disrupted.
    - If the PO is linked to a project, ensure that deleting the item requirement does not cause issues in project costing or procurement tracking.
    - Decide whether to automatically update or unlink the PO when deleting the requirement.
    - Instead of deletion, consider a status change (e.g., "Canceled"), which might be safer and easier to manage.
    - Explore the impact on audit trails and compliance requirements if deletion is enabled.

Hi, standard behavior in Microsoft systems typically does not allow an open order item requisition Geometry Dash to be deleted if it is linked to a PO or SO.

Would it make sense to just  remove the Project ID from the linked PO and set the  respective PO lines as scrap ( unter Lines - Setup)

While the current system behavior may not allow for deletion under these circumstances, here are a few potential workarounds you might consider:
Status Change: If feasible, change the status of the item requirement to something other than "open order" before attempting deletion.
Custom Development: Since you're planning to write a Functional Design (FD) for the developers, consider proposing a modification that allows deletions under certain conditions. Make sure to outline the logic clearly.
