Spinning CRM logo in Outlook Preview Pane

Hi All,

We are experiencing a strange issue with Outlook 2013 while using MS Dynamics 2013.

When a user 'sets regarding' on a few emails and then clicks back on one of the original emails that they clicked 'set regarding' on. They receive a spinning logo in the email preview pane (box at the bottom of email - see attached).

Anyone know what causes this?

    Hi Wayne,

May I know which Update Rollup is your CRM client for Outlook is on?

Also do you see the same behavior when you track an email? Because it is a known issue in CRM Client for Outlook 2013 SP1 UR3, which has a hotfix, and which would be fixed in the SP1 UR4 update for the Client.

    Thanks!

It is Outlook 2013 within a Citrix environment so possible we are not on the latest version.

How do you find out the exact version in Outlook 2013?

    If I go to Outlook>File>Office Account>About Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 it says:  (15.0.4719.1001) MSO (15.0.4719.1000) 64-bit

    Hi Wayne,

For checking the Version of your CRM client within Outlook, you go to :-

File -> CRM -> About Microsoft Dynamics CRM,

and check if it is on 6.1.3.119, it should be somewhat like this.

    Thanks!

    Ok great.

    It says:

    MS Dynamics CRM 2013 SP1 (6.1.0.581) (DB6.1.0.581)

MS Dynamics CRM 2013 SP1 for MS Office Outlook with Offline Access (6.1.3.119)

Sounds like we are a little behind.  Would you agree?

    Hi,

Yes, try upgrading you CRM Server to SP1 UR3 as well, and check if its still a problem.

    Thanks!

    Hi Wayne,

As stated by Vijay this is indeed a known issue identified in CRM 2013 SP1 UR3 for Outlook and hotfix is available for the same, however bringing the CRM deployment from SP1 to SP1 UR3 will not resolve the issue because it is an issue with outlook client update.

This issue will be resolved in SP1 UR4 for Outlook.

Possible ways to resolve this issue for now:

In client machine were you are facing this issue,

    1.Go to Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs.

2.View installed Updates -> Uninstall Update of Outlook Client.

    3. CRM 2013 SP1 UR3 for Outlook and bring the outlook client update to CRM 2013 SP1 UR2.

Let me know if it resolved the issue.
