Warehouse management process is disabled on warehouse but storage dimension WHS is enabled for the item

We will be using direct delivery for the first time in our company.
Currently the warehouse we use has a warehouse management enabled as well as the storage dimension of the item.

When we move to direct delivery, we are going to create a new Warehouse which we will disable the warehouse management process on the setup.
However we are thinking if we also need to change the item's storage dimension set up from Active warehouse management process to Not active.

Will there be any impact on the reservation of the item? Many thanks

    Hello,

    you can not deactivate on the storage Dimension Group, but i do not think that it is necessary.

    As i remember you Need a warehouse without whs process, but the storage Dimension is not necessary.

    what about the Reservation? is it ordered reserved, but it is no Problem, as you will never get the goods physically to your warehouse.

    Usually by using direct delivery so line is marked to po line so therefore you do not have to care about reserveration.

    Hi andriod1245,

    Consider you already have an item I5 which is advance warehouse enabled  and a warehouse W5 which is also advance warehouse and you use to process this item I5 in warehouse W5 in company A.

    Now if you want to sell this item I5 using direct delivery to customer from company B then just make a new warehouse CB (Company B)  which is not advance warehouse enabled and keep the storage dimension of the item same.

    Now while creating sales order select warehouse CB and inter company order will be created. This makes sure you can use the same item in advance warehouse and non advance at the same time.

    Note advance warehouse process work when both item and warehouse are advance warehouse enabled.  So if the same item is to be used in advance and non advance warehouses the storage dimension is enabled and warehouses are switched on or off.

    For direct delivery reservation in the selling company never happens and the reservation in the shipping company will not be impacted in any way.
