Tier 1 environment Power BI analytics not shown

hi,

I have a demo Tier 1 environment and have configured the Power BI setup from System admin. Executed the full reset batch job.

The connection is successful however, I am not able to see anything under analytics tab.

Am I missing any setup or does Tier 1 do not support this in D365 FO.

q2) Sometimes the full reset job does not update the values of some measurements, is there a reason for this or we need to enable setup for each measurement.

q3) In case the analytics section is not supported in Tier 1 then is it possible to see the analytics section via the power BI desktop app? If yes, then how do i connect and check this.

Thanks,

VK

Is there any license thing that I need to check . I think I already have the required license for Power BI

    Hi VK,

It is mentioned in the documentation that it is not supported on one-box environments. You would be able to do customizations using Power BI desktop.

    Hi Vicky1234,

Which "Power BI setup from System admin" you are referring to ?

For your Q2 "Sometimes the full reset job does not update the values of some measurements", can you elaborate how you're checking the measurement ? Since you're also mentioned you're not able to see anything under analytics's tab ?

For Q3, it is not "unsupported on Tier1", but there are many steps you need to take and it also involved subscribe some Azure services like Power BI Embedded Capacity.

Anyway, for using Power BI Desktop, as this is Tier1 you only need to change the datasource of your PBIX to you local SQL database, which in this case usually it is named "AxDW" (if you're admin is not changing any default naming)

    Hope it helps.

    Thanks,

    I have a similar issue.

I have successfully extracted the standard/shared PBIX files, modified them with Power BI desktop, uploaded them through LCS. I can select them and deploy them and I get confirmation the deployment was successful. But The reporting in D365 does not reflect the changes.

I applied direct DB connections while I made the changes in PBI Desktop and reverted to the original connections when I was ready to save the files.

I was careful to use the same content names as the original PBIX from D365.
