Onebox: Login failed for axdbadminuser

I just created a new VM for onebox.  When I try to open dynamics: https://usnconeboxax1aos.cloud.onebox.dynamics.com/

I get an internal 500 error:

When I try the user admin provisioning tool I get: 'Login failed for axdbadmin user'

And I get a login error when I try to start the Batch Management Service.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance

I have the same question (0)

Not yet, but I have a question.  What if I used wrong client id when generating the self-signed certificates?  How do I remove them and re-enter the correct one?

    Hello brianmaric ,

    Please, any update on this?

Have you been able to complete the provisioning successfully?

Do you know which step in the process updates SQL server and adds the axdbadminuser?

edit: just answered my own question: it's when one imports the most recent db.

So what do you think I should do?  Something went wrong with the configuration of SQL Server.  I guess I should just redeploy.

    Hi brianmaric,

In general you should not change the SQL password. If you do so, you must update all configuration files where the password is stored for normal operation of the application.

Note that all Dynamics 365 F&O tables are in the "DBO" schema. "AX" is used for commerce/retail.

I tried decrypting and logging into SQL with that password and I am getting the same error.

Does that mean that I need to change the SQL password?

Upon further investigation it looks like the ax Schema was never added to the database and while the axdbadmin was added as a login, that user was never added axdb.  Something went wrong in SQL sever.

ok, so somehow decrypting and then re-encrypting fixes it.

No, you just have to log-on to the application via the url and you are good to go

Ok, looks like it might be the answer, but I have a question.   Once I get the correct password from the decrypted webconfig file, where do I enter it into the system.  Do I, for instance, have to re-enter that password into all the DAX and SQL services?

    Hi ,

You should focus on fixing the "Login failed for axdb.... " error.
