Posted Credit Memos are a positive total?

In the canned D365 reports (Daily invoice, Customer/Item Statistics, etc.) when you export to Excel, is it standard that the Posted Credit Memo totals are a positive number instead of a negative number? So you would see the Posted Sales Invoice as a positive number and the Posted Credit Memo appears as a positive number but you would think it should be a negative number to zero it out?  Please help me understand.
