How to Maintain Initial Exchange Rate for Purchase Orders in Business Central (v25)?

I use Business central (BC). And I have the following situation: Problem Summary:

  1. I create a Purchase Order (PO) on April 30.
  2. At that time, there's no exchange rate for April 30, so BC uses the rate from April 29.
  3. Later, an exchange rate for April 30 is entered.
  4. When I register the purchase invoice dated April 30 from Continia document capture, BC recalculates using the newer April 30 rate.
  5. I want BC to always use the April 29 rate — i.e., the one valid at the time of PO creation or first posting.

How I can resolve it? Is Business Central setup for my situation? Or do I need system modifications?

    Hello,

To ensure Business Central always uses the exchange rate valid at the time of PO creation or first posting, you can set up a fixed exchange rate on the Currencies page, use a custom AL extension to enforce this behavior, or manually adjust the exchange rate on the purchase invoice to match the rate used at PO creation. These steps will help maintain consistency and avoid discrepancies during invoice registration.
