Get vendor invice number added in the description field

Hello!

I am trying to find out if there is an OOB solution to get the vendor invoice number added automatically in the description field?

I have manually added the text Kristina Beskrivning below and this is the text I would like to be replaced by the vendor invoice number instead, hopefully this can be done OOB, (Out Of the Box)

Hi,

Yes you can. You need to setup the default descriptions for vendor payment.

Hi,

Like Billur mentioned, you can setup default description, however there is a catch in it.

If you are expecting the invoice number should auto come into the description, it wont come, the only way to achieve this, you still need to add the invoice number into the Document number field and by the default description setup, it will come to vendor transaction.

The reason is, the invoice number doesnt come to Payment Journal form.

Hi,
I tried it in the system, you can set the default description for vendor payments in General Ledger > Journal Settings > Default Description, and as Ramit mentioned, the invoice number does not automatically go into the description.

Thank you all for the answers. I am starting to get the details better now.

However, I would like to understand how to find out if there is any limitations to number of characters that will be covered with the %2 setup in the picture below. It feels that there is something missing in the parameters in the picture below or?
