Hi All,
I just performed the year end closing procedure for the Financial side in GP 2010. This is the first time we will do the year end closing to one of our company database in GP.
There is an alert like there is single batch posting something not yet posted. (Bad things is I didn't take a screenshot of that). Then it asked me to continue or cancel. I clicked continue.
The, it printed the year end closing report. But the debit-credit is not balance and the retained earning account is missing in the report.
Before we also did a year end closing for the financial side from other company database but all are good.
This is the first time we encounter this error. Could anyone help/advise what can we do to correct this error?
Many thanks,
Rotchine

What is stopping you from restoring? Are you getting an error message? What is that message?
Hi Richard,
Still, I cannot proceed on this.... After I tried running the script with error on that specific line, I tried to restore again the backup database but I cannot restore it now.
Thanks,
Rotchine
If you just parse the script do you also get this error message? If you do, please paste the script into your reply and I will take a look at it and compare it to what works.
Hi Lyn,
Only on that specific line error after I run the script.
Thanks,
Rotchine
Hi Mani,
I am still stuck up with the last update I gave to Richard. This gave me error on the below line:
cross apply dbo.mcFuncGetExchangeRateTable(GL_YTD_TRX_OPEN.ExchangeRateDate,
ERROR: Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Procedure GL20000CurrencyTranslationView, Line 71
Incorrect syntax near '.'.
Thanks,
Rotchine
Hi Lyn,
Owner is DYNSA. :)
Thanks,

Hi Richard,
Thanks again. I am using MS SQL Server Management Studio 2005 ver. 9.00

I am also curious about multi-currency being installed. Looking for anything underlined with squiggly lines is a good idea. You can try to search for components using SSMS inside each company database and well as the DYNAMICS database.
There could also be a missing column in the GL_YTD_TRX_OPEN view.
Rotchine, prior to running the script, are there any segments that have squiggly red underlines? If so, which sections are underlined? These usually appear in sections of the script that may cause it fail, so they can be good for guidelines toward troubleshooting.
Great question, Rich. All the errors reference an error near '.' which makes me wonder if the 'sa' is the database owner.
Rotchine, if you right-click the database and go to properties, who does it say is the dbo (database owner)?
