Upgrade Dynamics CRM 2015 On-Premise to Dynamics 365 On-Premise

Hello Community,

When it comes to upgrading Dynamics CRM 2015 on-premise to Dynamics 365 on-premise, my understanding is that the only supported upgrade path is to first upgrade Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2015 to Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server 2016, and then apply the December 2016 Service Pack for Microsoft Dynamics 365 (on-premises).

Is this still the case, or is there a quicker and more efficient supported upgrade path now (that's supported by Microsoft)?

Any insights would be appreciated.

    Hello D365_Eric,

    The supported way to upgrade the from CRM 2015 on-premise to Dynamics 365 On-premise.

    CRM 2015 > CRM 2016 > December 2016 Service Pack for Microsoft Dynamics 365(V 8.2 on-premises) > Dynamics 365 9.0 

    The only supported upgrade path to Dynamics 365 Server, version 9.0 is upgrade from December 2016 Service Pack for Dynamics 365 (on-premises), or later update, to Dynamics 365 Server, version 9.0.
