Security issue when publishing organization hierarchy

Hello community,

do you know if there is any specific permission needed to publish the organization hierarchy? I am testing with a user that has both duties "Enable organizational process" and "Maintain and configure organizational model". Moreover, the duty "Maintain and configure organizational model" contains the permission "Maintain Organization hierarchy published and draft V2 entity". I can see the "Publish" menu item and select a date but upon confirmation I receive the error message "Cannot edit a record in Security user role condition (SecurityUserRoleCondition). Access Denied: You do not have sufficient authorization to modify data in the database. User 'Test1' is not authorized to delete a record in table 'SECURITYUSERROLECONDITION'. Request denied."

Many thanks in advance for any help provided.

Best regards

Fjorela

    Hi Fjorela,

As the table in the error is security related, can you check if the organization hierarchy is used for automatic or manual role assignments in the security? If so, you probably also need explicit permissions on the table. You can include the table with permissions on a privilege.

    Hi André,

I do apologize for my late reply. Many thanks for your hints.

So the organization hierarchy is of type "Organization chart" and is actually not used for security role assignments.

However, I noticed that even if the abovementioned error message is appearing, the organization hierarchy is still saved, because a version is available in the field "Effective date".

    Thank you

    Fjorela

    Hi Fjorela,

Probably, in the background, there is coding used to check the table which gives the error. Like you mentioned, probably all is working as this hierarchy is not security related. You can try to add the table permissions on the role or a privilege and check if this solves the error.

Thank you, I've added this table with delete permission and this solved the issue, still not sure why this started to happen.
