Slow form load when opening records from Advanced Find

We recently noticed a huge performance hit when opening records from Advanced Find in IE with the latest update of Dynamics 365 version 1612 (8.2.1.176).

Opening a record via a system or saved view (via the navigation menu) or direct URL, the record takes 4-5 seconds to load.  It takes the same record up to 25 seconds to load when opened from Advanced Find.

The same performance difference is there on every environment I've tried so far (same version), including a fresh trial with no customizations added.

Has anyone else noticed this?  Is this a known bug? I haven't found anything on the community or web searches.

George

    Hi George,

what I noticed is that Dynamics would keep loading something when the form shows up (you can see it in the status bar.. at least if you are using Chrome). This seems to take longer the first time you are opening a record from advanced find, and, if you open another one, it seems to take less time.

It's almost like every new window has to pre-load something.. I wonder if Dynamics is using HTML5 sessionStorage now:

That would explain what's happening, but that would not solve it of course.

Thanks Gopalan.  "No" on legacy form rendering.

As for the rest of your response I'd almost consider this trolling.  Please don't waste people's time with run-of-the-mill threads that a) don't lead anywhere and b) don't even apply.  In my case especially so because I'm using CRM Online so can't make any server side changes.  Clearly you're trolling for points and didn't even bother to read my post!

But if you would have bother read before replying, I clearly state that forms load normally and in reasonable time when navigated to from views or other records.   There is an inexplicable performance hit on the same forms ONLY when they are opened from Advanced Find.

Clearly a bug or a rendering issue with the CRM platform so I'm not expecting solutions here.  I'm really only soliciting whether anyone else in the community has experienced this and had any luck running this up the chain with the product team.

    Thanks Alex.

Chrome does take less time, but is still affected by this issue.  And I did notice Chrome runs a bit faster on subsequent form loads after the first, but even then it's still an order of magnitude slower to open forms from Advanced Find compared to a "regular" form load.

For IE (our target browser) I have some pretty Performance Center Form Analyzer graphs that illustrate the performnace hit perfectly, but nothing there hints at an explanation.

Add CRM URL to trusted site?

Ultimately you might need to open the network profiler to see what is happening (F12 in browser and navigate to Network tab)
