I would look at Smartlists in GP as the best option or use FRx/Management Reporter.

    Hi Deb,

Did you try financial summary excel report using reporting tools setup.  Since the excel report is dynamic you can format it the way you wanted and use it by refreshing it and each time you don't have to login to GP.

    Thanks,

    Babu

    Hi Deb,

you can export the FTB from the below options.

    1) through GP smartlists

    2) through FRx(need to be installed & configured)

    3) through MR(need to be installed & configured)

    4) through SSRS(company reports to be deployed through Reporting Tools Setup).

    Hi Deb,

Something that I do to get the summary trial balance into an Excel friendly format is to Hijack the Trial Balance 'Worksheet' report option. I go into Report Writer, remove the Page header, Report Footer and any other headings (like the underlines) that I don't want, and then print it to a delimited text file. It's one of the 'standard' things I do during an installation because everyone doesn't have access to FRx or MR.

If you will e-mail me (leslievail@earthlink.net), I'll be happy to send you the package file if you want it. Note - this will only print for open years.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Hi again,

To get the detail or history, I create the same kind of report in a separate Reports.dic and then create a different launch file that will point to a dex.ini file that directs the system to the alternate reports dictionary. If you don't ever want to actually print the paper report, just change it in your primary reports.dic.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Ms. Leslie always does it the perfect way,

Nothing more valuable to add up, just an interesting reference for Ms. Belinda on creating a trial balance on excel by considering the Pivot Table functionality in Excel, Dynamics GP GL Trial Balance made easy with Excel Pivot Tables

The bottom line is, you have plenty of options to consider,

    Mahmoud,

You are too generous - but I'm saving this entry for my 'feel good file'. Some day when nothing seems to go right, I'll have this to read and put a smile on my face :)

Thanks for the link to Belinda's article, she's amazing!

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
