Is there a way to change the duplicate settings so that duplicates aren't flagged where it involves an inactive company record?
Hi,
If you want the rule to consider only active records while detecting duplicates, the Exclude inactive matching records check box needs to be ticked. You should also select this check box if your duplicate detection rule criteria is based on the status field.

Here are the test results:
(1)The active records with the same company name are detected.
(1)The inactive records with the same company name are detected.
