GP Word Templates for SOP and Body size

I have successfully created a SOP invoice from scratch however my body is only as big as the number of lines I have in the details which often leaves a lot of white space on the form.   I have tried doing a embedded table to "size" the body - placing the body table inside but this does some weird things.

Wondering if there is anything else that allows me to have extra lines in my body that are really just space holders. I have also included modified comment rows - so I have 3 comments in the body with an embedded table for the additional comment lines

    Hello,

Has anyone figured out how to create a fixed body size on the word template so it always extends to the bottom of the page?

    Thanks!

    R1012,

Did you ever find out how to extend the body of the table to the bottom of the page?

    Thank you,

    Michelle

    Hi,

There is an article that explains exactly how to fix the amounts at the bottom. I don't have the link, but I have a copy of the document, I'll be happy to e-mail it to you - I don't see a way to attach it to this post. If you can't find it online, please e-mail me at leslievail@earthlink.net and I'll be happy to send you what I've got.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Ian,

How did you get the subtotal section to be fixed at the bottom of the report? I'm looking to achieve the same plus extend the body of the table, so it doesn't autofit based on number of line items.  Instead, I want the entire table to reach near the bottom of the report - like it does in Report Writer.

    Thank you.

In my experience, Crystal Reports is the best tool for this kind of report.  I have seen this done in SRS also, but it is definitely more difficult.

If you do decide to go the route of Crystal (or SRS), as an alternative to Accountable, please also consider GP Reports Viewer: www.gpreportsviewer.com/gpreports.html.  For GP 2010 it works with the out of the box GP emailing setup and functionality.

    Ian,

I have been unable to figure out a way to do this in both the Word Forms Templates and SRS.

If you are going through the time to build these from scratch and what you need is a requirement, you and the organization may be time and money ahead to explore the use of Accountable's Forms Printer as their underlying Crystal Reports can be designed with this functionality (it actually does this out-of-the-box) and, in my opinion, is much easier to develop in than Report Writer and Word Forms.

Accountable is great to work with and their support is awesome:

I also have same issue but can get the totals to print in a fixed position relative to bottom of page. However I find it impossible to draw lines down the page, or get shading to fill the space allocateede for the body
