Dexterity field length update

Hi, I have a couple of custom fields that were made through dexterity in the past. I wanted to update the length from 10 characters to 20 characters. I updated the length. How to export it to the live company?

How you did that?

It's a whole process and there are several facts which you may not be aware of if you are not a dexterity developer.

So if you are not dexterity developer , do not do it your own.

Try to get assistance of some dexterity developer if your company don't have one.

Hi Almas,

I already changed the lenght and I can see it through Debug/Test Mode. All I need is to puch it to the live company. I have been watching Dexterity training videos and I am working on a test enviornment. Do you know how to push that into live company?

The reason Almas asked how you did this is because, if those fields are a part of a table, you will need to create a conversion routine for the table, since the table definition length in your Dexterity application differs from the actual physical table length. Those two columns are now larger than their physical counterparts and you will get "Invalid column length" errors trying to read, write or doing any other table operation.
