Importing Product Categories & Category Hierarchy using DIXF

Hello All,

I want to import procurement category, so i don't know how to import product category & Category hierarchy and all the cycle.. i don't know how to use Product category & product category hierarchy entities.. how to do parent & child.. Please i need full detailed steps..

Open Product information management / Setup / Categories / Category hierarchies

Select a Category hierarchy and click "Categories from file".

this means i must design it first in excel file?? Nothing with DMF?

Hi Nour,

You can use DIXF as well to import product categories.

Use Category DIXF entity. Before you import, create product category hierarchy and parent node manually.

In this example; I created hierarchy called RahCat and parent node as ALL.

Note; you can skip parent node and system will create it for you...play with combinations.

Sample file for Category entity will look like this.

CategoryHierarchy|Name|Code|ParentName
RahCat|Miscellaneous|MISC|All
RahCat|Tool & Equipment|T&E|All
RahCat|Paint & Body Equipment|PBE|All
RahCat|Material Fabrication|MF&F|All
RahCat|Rust Solutions|RS|Paint & Body Equipment
RahCat|Painting Equipment|PE|Paint & Body Equipment
RahCat|Auto Body Repair|BF|Paint & Body Equipment
RahCat|Paints & Coatings|PA|Paint & Body Equipment
RahCat|PowderCoat|HC|Paint & Body Equipment
RahCat|Buffing & Metal Finishing|BU|Material Fabrication
RahCat|BF Accessories|BF0|Buffing & Metal Finishing

Hi All

Just want to add something to the last post, you can also add the root node you just need to copy the name of the root node in the parent node.
