Quantity cannot be reversed because the items already have been reversed while I try to reverse a loaded shipment using reduce picked quantity.

Hi,

We have a shipment which has been packed and has two container to it. The status of the shipment is loaded and the load has status 100% work completed.

While I try to reverse this shipment by reduce picked quantity it gives me this error.

"Quantity cannot be reversed because the items already have been reversed"

Sometimes It creates inventory movement work and removes the item from the clsoed containers but not always.

Any Idea

    Hi Sagar,

    Please check Inventory Transactions and verify is there any such transactions with reservation or physically reserved, In such case try to UN-Mark the linked transaction or UN-reserve the stock  associated to particular transaction and Then try to reverse the above shipment.

    Hi Medat,

    In my scenario it was because the shipment was having a status of loaded and I was trying to reverse while the sales order was packing slip updated.

    Now the catch is if the sales order is packing slip updated you cannot use "reduce picked quantity" in the shipment to reverse the shipment as the packing slip posting has caused deducted inventory transactions.

    In a case if the shipment was loaded and the packing slip was not yet posted for the sales order you could use the "reduce picked quantity" to reverse the shipment.

    Now as the packing slip is posted and you use "reduce picked quantity" to reverse the shipment we get the above error.

    Solution to reverse from this point is that you have to cancel the packing slip first and then reverse the shipment.

    As we know we cannot cancel a packing slip while using with advance warehouse management so Microsoft have given a solution in the hotfix KB3196554 for AX 2012 and in update 6 (November 2016) for dynamics 365 where the packing slip can be cancelled from the load.

    So you have to cancel the packing slip from the ship and receive tab of the load first and thats what is stopping us from reversing it from shipment.
