Management Report Viewer - Viewer Only license

Hi Everyone:  Here is my problem:

I have a user in MR 2012, who is assigned a 'Viewer' Only licence to view a report. He has no access to Dynamics GP 2010 (Our current GP version), and therefore cannot drill down into GP. He is of course limited to drilling down from Summary Report line > Account Details > Transaction details within the MR report.

How and where does he login to access the Report Viewer? If I, as an administrator, wishes to test the user's issues, with a 'Viewer Only' credentials, where can I change  it so I can access the report as a Viewer and NOT as an Administrator?

A quick and detailed response from any of the forum users would be most appreciated!

    From Management Reporter Designer choose Security.  Create a new user for the desired viewer user, then assign it to the viewer role. You should then log in as the new user and test access as the user through Report Viewer. This will be the best way to test the configuration. Any machine where you've installed the client should have both the Designer and Viewer application installed.

    Hi Redbeard: Thank you so much for your prompt and helpful answer. I do appreciate it very much.

    I have done all you have suggested; However, When I elect to log into the Report Viewer, I am not asked for my credentials. That is what is puzzling me. Does it mean that once you have created your newuser account and assigned it to a viewer role, you are automatically logged in each time you go to the Report Viewer?

    And if am trying to change my login credentials (for testing) from Administrator to simply a Viewer, Where and how would I change it?

    I would appreciate a bit more of the detail please. Thanks again for your help.

    Deesom,

    Active directory credentials are passed automatically when MR is started.  To test, log onto the machine as the test user.
