How do you add a clickable network path link in a form?

This has been covered before but I just can't figure it out. I am trying to get a clickable link in a form that will launch a network path (open a file saved on the shared drive)

I created a new field that is a single line of text that is text type already. This is where I paste the file path / network path like \\file01\shared\folder\abc.xls

Now I need to go into the Form property and add a new Form Library and also add a new Event Handler?

You need to create a new web resource in javascript I think.

Can someone walk me through that process again? Screenshots would help a lot.
