Fixed Asset Import GP2015

Hello all,

Can someone please explain or guide me to a step by step for fixed asset importing? I am very new to GP and need to enter 6 months worth of fixed assets due to assets being previously off-site.

Any assistance would be very helpful.

Thanks,

Lucinda

You can download the Microsoft Dynamics GP2013 "Fixed Asset.pdf" file from this link:

      www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

Then goto Part 2: Cards and Integration and locate Chapter 7: Asset Import.  The import file "fields list" starting on page 68 - explains how each "field" is used.  A "Field" is the same as a "column" in the excel file you will prepare that will contain your existing asset data from current FA system.  Note: every field/column listed in the "field list" must be placed into your excel file in the exact order listed in the manual, each field/column must exist even if the field/column is not used, or the import will fail.  Since you are new to GP - you might consider contacting your Dynamics Partner (VAR Reseller) to assist you with this process, as well as reading the manual.
