In the Usage Transaction Maintenance how come there returns to stock aren't included in that display? My Actual Usage count for a month shows 4 when it should show 3 because of a return. In the OM Shipper screen include in demand is checked.
The Item Usage Maintenance screen for Actual Usage is worthless because it doesn't include returns. What am I missing?

Jennifer,
Thanks for the information but if you’re trying to calculate usage for purchasing and items are returned your usage calculation will be over stated because returns are not included in this field . The system would suggest you need to purchase more than what you are selling because returns are not included in this. It does exclude Drop Shipments and Transfers which it should do.
I understand why you would make an adjustment if a customer wanted 500 and you only had 450 so that the quantity reflects the true demand.
You can't go and make negative adjustments for returns, that would be a full time job.
It seems like this is a bug in the system.
Thanks,
Judi
Judi,
The valid transactions for the Usage Transaction Maintenance screen are as follows: Invoice, Transfer, Issue, Kit Assembly. From the information I could find and the tests that I ran, it does not appear that the screen is designed to include return-type transactions. The following text from the help files confirms this theory:
Example: Let's say that Customer A ordered 500 units of Inventory Item B but you were only able to supply 450 units. Usage shows the 450 units actually sold to Customer A. You can enter 50 units in Adjustment to Usage so that Inventory Replenishment uses a transaction quantity that reflects the true demand of 500 units to calculate past usage. You can also enter a reason in Reason, a free-form text field.
